Get Your Own Technique Down
I was doing so many things incorrectly when it came to learning alternate picking. I had a buddy of mine that showed me what he had been doing and of course, attempted them myself. Big mistake. Though I understand that practice makes perfect, what he did was not conducive to me mastering alternate picking licks. Online I found some exercises that worked best for me. I practiced hours at a time and found I had better luck with even just adjusting the way my fingers and arm were positioned. The tiniest things make such a big difference. I am getting better each day.
