If It Ain’t Broke

It’s funny how you don’t know what things are until they break. For instance, I had no idea what a fuel gauge sensor was until my son ran out of gas for the third time and the mechanic told me something was wrong. I had no idea what retail fixtures were until a bolt came out of a metal display case, causing it to crash down on my wife when she picked up a piece of merchandise at the store. And I had no idea what an appendix did until I had appendicitis last year and needed to have mine removed. Actually, scratch that. I still don’t really know what my appendix does, but I do know that I don’t miss it.
