One of the most overlooked positions in a doctor’s office is that of someone who does the insurance coding. When you do coding, you are the person who handles all the forms going to the insurance company so the doctor’s office can get paid. The right codes have to be used, or the payment received by the insurance company will not be correct. Further, if the wrong code is used, the patient might have to pay too much out of pocket. It is important that the person handling the coding be properly trained by a good program. This way, the job is done correctly and the billing is correct.
