Even prisoners have entitlement and rights
If a person is serving time in prison and a parent dies, they are allowed to apply for leave to attend the funeral of the parent. They would more than likely be hand cuffed to an officer but the funeral grants the prisoner to at least pay their respects to the loved one they have just lost. The Human rights law states that even though the prisoner is being punished for a crime which is perhaps despicable, they still have rights and are still meant to be treated as human throughout a time such as the death of a parent. The laws in place have many rules that most people would frown upon.
