Get ready the two segments of the fallopian tube

Laparoscopic tubal ligation reversal is a less invasive surgical procedure (laparoscopy), using small, sophisticated surgical instruments to join the fallopian tubes. After general anesthesia has been administered, a 10 mm tubeknown as trocar is introduced just at the posterior edge of the navel, tubal reversal and a special gas is pumped into the abdominal cavity to create adequate space to do the surgery safely. The laparoscope, attached to a camera, is brought into the abdomen through the same tube, and the pelvis/abdomen is thoroughly inspected. The fallopian tubes are evaluated and the obstruction is examined. Three surgical instruments are used to remove the obstruction and get ready the two segments of the fallopian tube to be reconnected. One method involves the use of a tubal cannulator, which is introduced into the uterus via the cervix, providing the fallopian to be threaded with a fine stent. This allows for better alignment of the fallopian tubes, so a much better joining can be accomplished. Little surgical seams (less than a hair in thickness) are carefully and meticulously placed to connect the two sections.
