Most people don’t realize how much coldsores are contageous, so they don’t take precautionary measures. For the ten day period of the outbreak you need to avoid letting others touch you. Don’t share any cosmetics or creams and always wash your hands after applying any type of remedy. You can spread the cold sore even if a person doesn’t touch your face but touches your affected hands.
