Overcoming depression is not something that you can or should do by yourself. If you are upset, let someone know. Don’t be upset when people can’t read you as well as you’d like them to. Some people are especially good actors, successfully hiding the fact that they are hurting inside by putting on the facade of a smile or laugh. If you’re like this, realize that it is just a defense mechanism and stop it. By allowing other people into your life to help you work through whatever problems you’re having, you are showing them that you care enough about them to include them in your life. Don’t shut people out. Isolation is the worst thing for any human to endure. It doesn’t help you grow as a person at all. If you don’t feel comfortable telling your friends and/or family what is bothering you, there are plenty of free professionals out there who would be more than willing to listen you and help guide you on the right path. Simply look up free hotlines or self-help centers, etc. in your area.
