Omega-3 Good For Heart Health
Your doctor may tell you to try to lower your cholesterol or increase your fiber intake, but there’s one thing they may not mention – that you should find ways to get more Omega-3s in your diet. Omega-3 is a nutrient found in fatty fish oil, and according to researchers, it’s more important to your health than you think. Because of the popularity of Omega-3, food manufacturers are finding ways to put Omega-3 into food that normally wouldn’t contain them like crackers, milk, yogurt, and butter. However many of those products contain Omega-3s derived from a plant, which is not as beneficial as fish oil. Omega-3 from flaxseed oil for example is converted to the good Omega-3s when you eat it, but really there’s very little, maybe 2 to 5 percent of what you eat is converted. So your best option is to supplement your diet with Omega-3 capsules.
