If you are considering having plastic surgery, you need to choose a doctor who is board certified. In the United States, contact the American Board of Plastic Surgery for a list of certified doctors in your area.
Surgeons certified by this board have had at least six years of general surgery training and at least three years of training in plastic surgery. With all the risks associated with plastic surgery, from serious health complications to undesirable physical results, it’s very important to choose your doctor wisely. Ask to see photos of their work and ask for names of former patients. Contact these people and ask serious questions about how happy they are with their results.
