Bar flooring

The flooring in bars of old was usually wood planks that were laid side by side on a frame that was underneath them. This type of wood flooring is sometimes known as “bar flooring“, and it is similar to the ship decks of old, which werealso made of wooden planks laid side by side, except that this type of flooring is generally made using pieces of wood that are significantly less wide than what was commonly used on the ships of old. You can see this type of flooring in common use today in places like bowling alleys, because it has some resilience and spring which prevents the balls from breaking the floor.
