Asteroids are massive chunks of rock and dirt floating out in space in the asteroid belt orbiting between Mars and Jupiter. Every now and then one goes off course and swings around the sun and comes close to Earth. Asteroid 2012 is predicted by the bible code that it will strike in December 21st of 2012. The bible code are codes within the text of the bible that are hidden and can only be found with modern day computers. There are many other predictions in there about 911 and world war 3. It all depends on how big the asteroid is on how much damage there would be to the Earth. If were to hit a major city it would most likely wipe it out. Or if it crashed into the ocean there would be major tsunamis all around the world.
