Psychology: Caught Up in The Confidence Trap
Confidence is something we all seek. The great irony is that confidence is the act of shedding your self-consciousness. And so if you seek confidence, the very seeking of it means you’re self-conscious. A good example is a party. Many women worry about what to wear. A common question is : what shoes should I wear to a party? These kind of questions are usually followed by : what will other women wear? What’s acceptable?
These questions all lead to exacerbate self-consciousness which in turn erodes your confidence. It’s better to keep it simple – find out the basic dress rules and where exactly what you like within those rules and banish any worries as to what others will wear or what they will think of what you are wearing.
