Harassing telephone callers are being prosecuted.
In the past there wasn’t much that could be done about telephone harassment. That isn’t true any longer. With phone features like Caller ID and *69 call back more harassing callers are being identified. It is often quite a shock when a harassing caller is served with law suite papers or an arrest warrant. More laws have been passed regarding telephone harassment, including harassment by bill collectors, and more harassers are being prosecuted. Fines and even jail terms are being reported in the news as a means to give fair warning to those that think about making telephone harassing calls.
