Corel PHOTO-PAINT Masking Techniques
When beginning a masking project in PHOTO-PAINT, the first thing you should do is to make a duplicate copy of your original file, in case something goes wrong with the Masking process. There are a couple of ways to do this. One is to copy the original file and rename it, the other option is to go into the Objects docker in PHOTO-PAINT and drag down the background image to make a copy. Another technique that I use is to create an Object and fill it with a high contrast color, such as blue or green. After creating a mask, I then zoom into the image and check the edges of my mask against the colored background. If there are artifacts, pinholes in the image or raggedness, these are instantly obvious.
