Further Price Cut For Amazon Kindle
Less than two weeks after announcing that the kindle ebook reader was to be made available to international customers - an announcement which was accompanied by a price drop - Amazon have dropped the US version of the Kindle 2. The “international” Kindle 2 is now the standard and the price for this has dropped from $279 to $260. Possibly the move is a simple consolidation exercise, although it seems improbable given the very short timescale since the original announcement, or possibly it is a response to Barnes and Noble’s new Nook e-book reader which was announced last week - which also has a $260 selling price.
